Empire Petroleum started in 1998 as a fuel distributor for Getty in the Washington, D.C. area, adding the Sunoco and BP brands in 2000 and the Marathon, Chevron, Texaco, Valero, and Gulf brands in 2010. In addition to our branded partners, Empire has its own unbranded flag, Empire’s Fast Fuels, under which we supply unbranded motor fuel products to independent operators.

Empire’s Management Team has 125+ Years of Industry Experience
Hank Heithaus has over 40 years of petroleum industry experience. Prior to joining Empire, Hank was President of Murphy, USA, the $13 billion+ retail operations of Murphy Oil Corporation with 1,100+ outlets. Mr. Heithaus previously held senior management positions for over two decades at Sohio, which has since been acquired by BP. Hank has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Cincinnati, and an MBA from Xavier University.
David Potter has over 20 years of petroleum industry experience. Previously, David was most recently CFO of Alon Brands, an operator of over 300 convenience stores and one of the largest 7-11 licensees in the United States. At Alon, he was responsible for all financial functions of the firm and oversaw EBITDA growth of nearly 200% over a five year period. From 1994 to 2007, David was the CFO of Thriftway Marketing Corporation, a large convenience store chain based in New Mexico. David has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma. He is a CPA and Certified Valuation Analyst.
Mike Diebus has over 25 years of petroleum industry experience. Earlier in his career, he held management positions at Motiva and Star Enterprise/Texaco. Most recently, Mike was General Manager of Potomac Energy Holdings at The Wills Group, Inc., where he was responsible for business development, sales team training and marketing, real estate finance and development, forecasting, and territory startup & turnaround. Mike has a bachelor’s degree in Government from Hamilton College.
Travis E. Booth
Travis Booth has nearly 10 years of petroleum industry experience. Prior to Empire, he practiced commercial real estate law in Montgomery County, Maryland. He represented some of the largest commercial landlords on the East Coast on all leasing matters ranging from simple lease agreements to negotiations on large mixed-use developments. Travis is in charge of all legal matters, ranging from real estate issues to mergers and acquisitions to patent work. Travis has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Maryland, College Park and a J.D. from the University of Baltimore.
Dave Rabe has over 30 years of experience in the petroleum industry. Previously, Prior to Empire Dave served as the manager of Global sales and Distributor Operations at Chevron. Throughout his career with Chevron, Mr. Rabe had spearheaded significant market share growth in Texas, Louisiana and the Pacific Northwest. In addition to sales and marketing, Mr. Rabe has held additional responsibilities managing asset sales and M&A diligence. Dave has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and an MBA from the University of Kentucky.
