Meter calibration is a procedure in which a pump is programmed to dispense the appropriate amount of fuel per transaction. The display on the pump indicates how many gallons were dispensed, but that is not always the TRUE gallons. Calibrating each meter is the best way to correct dispensing issues and prevent more issues from arising. Many companies calibrate their meters on a quarterly, bi-annual, or annual calibration schedule.
